Remember that story not too long ago about Kiera Wilmot, the girl who got expelled and arrested for doing an experiment on school grounds? Well, there’s been an update on her story. The charges against her were dropped, and while she may have to do some community service or something minor, it’s a huge relief to hear that she won’t be prosecuted for her curiosity. Hopefully, she’ll be able to go back to her old school in the fall.
Not only that, but there has been some awesome rallying around Kiera from the scientific community. Homer Hickam, a former NASA engineer, started a crowdtilt campaign to send Kiera and her twin sister Kayla to space camp. Like, real space camp, at the Advanced U.S. Space Academy. Their tuition for space camp will be fully covered.
Some faith in humanity has been restored.
